Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at  if you cannot find an answer to your question.

DV Court is held in Division III on the 2nd Tuesday of each month.

The remaining dates for 2025 are:

November 18, 2025

December 16, 2025

For new participants (first time appearing), court begins at 1:30pm. For all other participants, court begins at 2:00pm.

If you are the victim, you are not required to attend DV Court. If you have questions, please contact the DV Court Advocate at ClayCountyDVA@gmail.com. You are allowed to attend court if you have questions about what is occurring or if you'd like to speak to someone in person about your case.

Immediately contact the Case Coordinator to see if a warrant has been issued for your arrest.

Domestic Violence Court is still a court of law. Although you do not need to wear a suit and tie, you should not wear shorts, flip flops, hats, tank tanks or anything that you would not wear to a job interview. If you need to come directly from work (or go directly to work), you can wear your uniform, so long as your work uniform is not shorts, flip flops or shorts.

A Hope Card is a new program being launched by Clay County Domestic Violence Court. It is the size of a credit card and contains all the information that a victim needs about his or her Order of Protection. These cards will be given to all victims at no cost when they receive a Full Order of Protection.
